Terms of Service

Effective date: July 5, 2026

These are the terms for using DialHello, written in plain English. DialHello ("we," "us," or "our") is based in Virginia. By signing up for or using DialHello, you agree to these terms.

1. What DialHello Is

DialHello is a text messaging service for small home service businesses — plumbers, HVAC technicians, garage door companies, electricians, locksmiths, and similar trades. We offer two features:

  • Missed call text-back: when your business misses an inbound call, DialHello automatically sends a single text message to that caller, on your behalf, letting them know you'll follow up shortly.
  • Review request automation: after completing a job, the technician opens the DialHello dashboard, enters the customer's phone number, and confirms — by checking a consent checkbox in front of the customer — that the customer has agreed to receive a text to rate their experience. Only when that checkbox is checked does DialHello send a single review-request SMS to the customer. If they respond positively, we point them to a Google review link. If they respond negatively, their feedback is captured privately through a feedback form instead of being posted publicly.

DialHello uses Twilio to send and receive text messages, and Stripe to process payments. We don't message consumers directly — every message we send goes out on behalf of a registered business client, tied to a call that business received or a customer that business has already worked with.

2. Who Can Use DialHello

DialHello is built for businesses, not individual consumers. To use DialHello, you must:

  • Be based in the United States;
  • Represent a legitimate, legally registered business entity (sole proprietorships with a valid business license are fine — we just can't work with individuals texting on their own behalf); and
  • Be at least 18 years old and authorized to sign up your business for this service.

3. Your Account

You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. If you think someone has gotten into your account without permission, let us know right away at team@dialhello.com.

You agree to give us accurate information about your business — your legal business name, phone number, and contact details — and to keep that information up to date. We rely on this information to send compliant messages on your behalf and to verify you're a legitimate business.

4. Acceptable Use

DialHello exists to do two specific things: send missed-call text-backs and review requests. It is not a general-purpose marketing or bulk texting tool. When you use DialHello, you agree that:

  • You will not use it to send spam, marketing blasts, or any unsolicited messages beyond the missed-call text-back and review request use cases described above.
  • You will only send messages to people who have called your business or who are existing customers of your business. You will not upload or import contact lists, purchased leads, or anyone who hasn't directly interacted with your business.
  • You will not use DialHello for harassment, illegal activity, or any purpose other than the two features described in Section 1.

We reserve the right to review message activity to make sure it stays within these use cases, and to suspend accounts that don't.

5. SMS Compliance (TCPA and Carrier Rules)

Text messaging to consumers is regulated under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and by wireless carrier guidelines. As a business client, you are responsible for making sure your use of DialHello complies with the TCPA and applicable carrier requirements — including only messaging people who've called you or who are your existing customers, honoring opt-out requests (like replies of "STOP"), and not using DialHello to contact anyone who hasn't consented to hear from your business in this way.

How consent works for missed-call text-back

The automated missed-call text-back message itself carries the required disclosure: it identifies the business by name, invites a reply (e.g. "How can we help?"), and states that message and data rates may apply and that replying STOP opts the caller out — all in the very first message sent, before any conversation continues. This message is only ever sent in response to an inbound call placed to the business's own number; DialHello never initiates a text to someone who hasn't just called. Any reply the caller sends back is their own voluntary choice to continue the conversation by text, recorded directly in Twilio's own message logs.

Required consent for review requests

Before sending a review-request text, you (or your technician) must confirm — using the checkbox in the DialHello dashboard, checked in the customer's presence at the time they agree — that the customer has verbally consented to receive a text to rate their experience, understands that message and data rates may apply, and knows they can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Agreeing to this is entirely optional and is never a condition of completing the job or of being charged for it — customers who decline receive no messages at all.

Only checking that consent checkbox and submitting the form triggers a single review-request text to the customer; nothing is sent by any other path. Every review-request text DialHello sends also carries its own "Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help" instruction, a message/data-rates disclosure, and a link to our Privacy Policy, and end customers can opt out at any time as described there.

DialHello provides the technical infrastructure to send these messages and to require the consent checkbox before any message goes out, but obtaining the customer's verbal consent in the first place — and checking the box accurately — is your responsibility as the business relationship holder.

6. Pricing and Billing

DialHello costs $199/month after your free trial period ends. Billing is handled through Stripe, and you'll be charged automatically each month on your billing date.

You can cancel anytime. When you cancel, your service continues through the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and then it stops — we don't charge you again after that. We don't offer refunds for partial months; if you cancel partway through a billing period, you keep access through the end of that period but won't receive a prorated refund.

7. Service Availability

We work hard to keep DialHello up and running, and we aim for high uptime. That said, we don't guarantee the service will be available 100% of the time — text messaging depends on third-party infrastructure (like Twilio and mobile carriers) that's outside our control. If we need to take the service down for scheduled maintenance, we'll let you know in advance whenever we can.

8. Intellectual Property

DialHello — the platform, software, and technology behind it — belongs to us. You don't get ownership of any part of the platform by using it.

Your business data — your customer phone numbers, message history, and the information you give us about your business — belongs to you. We use it only to operate the service on your behalf.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. If something does go wrong and we're found liable, our total liability to you is capped at the amount you paid us in fees over the 3 months before the issue arose.

10. No Warranties

DialHello is provided as-is and as-available. We make no warranties, express or implied, about the reliability, accuracy, or fitness of the service for any particular purpose. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every message will be delivered successfully — SMS delivery depends on factors outside our control including carrier networks and recipient device availability. Your use of DialHello is at your own risk.

11. Termination

You can cancel your account at any time, effective at the end of your current billing period as described in Section 6.

We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms — for example, by using DialHello for spam, unsolicited messaging, harassment, or anything outside the two features it's built for. We'll try to give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first, unless the violation is serious enough that we need to act immediately to protect other users or the platform.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law principles.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll email you at least 30 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use DialHello after that means you accept the updated terms.
